“The highlight of my year is going back and forth on this river in the fall,” he admits. “I’ve traveled much of the globe and seen mammal predators migrate in large numbers, but there’s nothing compared to this among raptors, especially as it takes place within a two-kilometre radius. In 2010, I counted 7,362 eagles here, but there were probably closer to 10,000.”
